Societies Ordinance Registration
As of today (10-20-2021), this group has officially been registered under the Societies Ordinance (Laws of Hong Kong, Cap. 151, 5A(1)), and our English name has officially been changed to the Hong Kong Scoliosis Awareness Group.
We sincerely thank everyone’s continued support and encouragement towards our group, which allowed us to achieve this small goal this year.
It has not been an easy ride from July 2019 to now. Thank you to the HKSAG committee for all your help. Let’s continue working and fighting side by side to chase our dreams! Additionally, thank you to every member of the HKSAG. The HKSAG would not exist without your support.
We promise now to keep working hard to contribute to Hong Kong’s scoliosis awareness efforts. We hope that everyone will continue to support us, and keep walking by our side.

"Children With Scoliosis" Board game
The Hong Kong Society for Rehabilitation’s OverLab, JProduction, and the Hong Kong Scoliosis Awareness Group has worked together to create a board game called “Children With Scoliosis”.
Having scoliosis affects patients’ physical appearances, so many patients will be afraid to seek treatment in the early stages of scoliosis, instead choosing to keep their problems to themselves. The Hong Kong Scoliosis Awareness Group’s chairwoman, Sita, is an example of this: Sita used to work as a model part-time, but her scoliosis caused many difficulties in her modeling career, ultimately forcing her to give up her job as a model. Current day, Sita expresses regret that she did not seek treatment for scoliosis earlier. If she had, she might not have had to face so many difficulties.
The in-game character has scoliosis and has dreams of becoming a fashion model. To become a model, the character has to be able to wear many different types of clothes. However, the character’s scoliosis prevents the character from wearing some styles of clothing. After getting early treatment, the character will be able to wear the clothes and become a model.
The moral conveyed through the game is that scoliosis patients should not overlook their symptoms and that seeking early treatment will only bring benefit in the long run.
The members of this group have firsthand experience with the pain, frustration, and helplessness that may come with this condition. We hope that we can help patients achieve their dreams through sharing our experiences.
